About the online seminar
Many organizations have already started countermeasures for global warming. In Thailand, many various crops are grown like rice, sugar cane, corn and cassava etc. And export to overseas from Thailand. Agriculture industry’s population is the biggest in all industries. But the average income is the lowest compared to other industries. So the movement of increasing productivity and counter measurement to reduce GHG emissions is very slow.
This time, we introduce Sagri which is a venture company from Japan and Singapore. Sagri is providing services that can reduce the amount of GHG using by satellite and AI in the agriculture field. Sagri can simulate the appropriate amount of chemical fertilizer to use in fields for cultivating crops using satellite data, utilizing its proprietary AI model developed in-house.
If farmers have been using excessive fertilizer, reducing the fertilizer application to a level equivalent to the simulation results allows them to maintain the same crop yield while simultaneously reducing greenhouse gas emissions and cutting down on fertilizer costs. Additionally, it is possible to decrease the damage to the land caused by chemical fertilizers, thereby providing support for the creation of a sustainable crop production cycle.
Furthermore, Sagri has a unique business model in which it collaborates with companies and organizations in the agricultural sector to support farmers together, reducing greenhouse gas emissions from chemical fertilizers, generating carbon credits, and sharing the profits from selling these credits with partner companies that aid farmers.
